Sharing
Tonight we had our first sharing experience as a project. We split up by impact group (a men's and a women's bible study paired up), and hit the neighborhood. Everyone my group encountered were already Christians. This is amazing, but it didn't give us an opportunity the share the Gospel ourselves. There were some cool and funny stories from other groups, though.
Two people accepted Christ tonight, and several more expressed interest and took our "Four Spiritual Laws" booklet with them (also known as the Cliff notes to the Bible). I feel like even though only two people have come to Christ so far, this already justifies all of us being here all summer, and it is so amazing to see our project changing lives already.
Another story from sharing is not quite as inspiring, although it is very interesting. Another group was talking to four guys at a local beach house. The group was discussing hierarchy of sin with the residents, when another guy stuck a dijereedoo (unknown spelling, it is a long Australian instrument.) Although their spiritual discussion was intense, everybody turned around and was encountered with a most disturbing sight- three adult males with their rear ends pressed on the window. Although this is surely a shocking sight, it isn't as shocking as what happened next- the window shattered, sending glass everywhere and adding to the confusion.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt through all of our evangelistic adventures, and we were all inspired by our reception in the community. Please continue to pray for our ministry here, your prayer support is vital to our success.
